Is the slowdown for real?

A comprehensive report last week in The Economic Times on the sharp slowdown in industrial output growth for July brought forth a strange paradox. While the numbers do indicate a slowdown, with the manufacturing sector growth slipping to a single digit for some months now, industry players spoken to by ET said they were in the process of further capacity build up. So there doesn't seem to be any demand slowdown.
