NEW DELHI: TAM’s initial ratings of the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup are out and have thrown up no surprises. While media buyers say the numbers could have been better, they add that Twenty20 has pulled back Indian cricket from the post-World Cup gloom.
Last Friday’s India-Pakistan match delivered a combined TRP of 10.55 among 15-years plus male audiences across all-India cable & satellite homes, which, say, media buyers, is about 20-25% higher than what a regular One Day International (ODI) manages. While ESPN managed an individual rating of 5.68, Star Cricket – which is showing feeds in Hindi and Tamil – recorded 4.87, according to TAM Peoplemeter.
