ICA pushes for customs duty cuts on cell accessories

KOLKATA: The Indian Cellular Association (ICA) will shortly approach the finance ministry and department of telecommunications (DoT) for a 26% reduction in duties on mobile phone accessories. The current customs duty is as high as 34% and ICA has decided to request that duties be slashed to 8%.
ICA is the apex body of the mobile industry comprising manufacturers, brand owners, application and solution providers, distributors, retailers and eminent consumers of mobile handsets.
