PUNE: The next five years are a make-or-break for India: Either we will make the breakthrough in manufacturing and compete globally or else.... This was Lord Swraj Paul speaking to company employees at two plants in the Pune region.
“The world would like an alternative to China which has marched ahead to become a global manufacturing location. Some would like to see competition, because everyone wants a new location, for new and fresh ideas. Others would like to be located in a democratic country. And Caparo would like to play a role in ensuring this,” he said. He added, “This kind of opportunity does not come all the time; harness it. The world is not standing still. It is India which has stood still,” a cautionary note that this opportunity has to be seized now and it will not wait.
