MUMBAI: The market opened sharply lower on Friday pressured by weak global cues, but was fast to recover from lows.
At 10 am, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty was down 55 points or 0.93 per cent at 5811.85. The 50-share index was off the low of 5714.25, a loss of 152.2 points from Thursday.
Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was 170 points or 0.86 per cent lower at 19,554.69, off the low of 19,255.77—a fall of 468.58 points from the previous close.
